The Owl’s Heart, Trumpet One, Two Lanterns

This multi-sculpture display features two light sculptures by Travis Pond, and two lighted lanterns by Scott Foster

The floor-to-ceiling windows at Unitus Community Credit Union, located on North Williams Avenue, offer a unique opportunity to showcase lighted sculptures.

Artist Travis Pond, inspired by a commission by the Williams Vancouver Business Association (WVBA), created two other lighted sculptures he is loaning to Unitus for six months, until May 2025. Pond works with repurposed steel found and donated from around the Pacific Northwest. Pond created two sculptures, Owl’s Heart, and Trumpet One.

Foster has carved designs in metal spheres and then coated the final in blue paint before installing a changing light inside. To increase the light play, the lanterns are placed on clear plastic pedestals that refract the light.
