Wishing Owl

This 5 foot lighted sculpture builds upon the existing Williams Avenue Wishing Tree installation.

For about a decade, North Williams Avenue Resident Ullika Pankratz has established a Wishing Tree in her front yard – where the public can pick up a tag, write a wish and attach it to the tree.

The Williams Vancouver Business Association (WVBA) commissioned sculptor Travis Pond to create a Wishing Tree-inspired sculpture to draw more attention to the interactive installation. The sculpture was funded by a grant from Venture Portland, and the project was administered by the WVBA.

Pond chose an owl to sit atop a wishing tree tag, lit at the base, dedicated to those who dare dream out loud.

Viewers will be invited, as always, to leave a wish on the wishing tree.
